People tend to think to 29er hardtails as race bikes. You can totally race Trek's Stache 6, with its lightweight aluminum frame and quick-handling G2 geometry, but where it really shines is when the trail turns nasty. Trek loaded the Stache with trail bike goodies like an E2 head tube, ISCG05 mounts, dropper-post routing and a 142x12mm rear end. That rear end is enhanced by short chainstays that dissect twists and turns like a boss. Add a 120mm RockShox fork to smooth things out, Race Face cranks powering 2x10 gearing and legit Bontrager components and you have a simple, fast, trail bike 29er that doesn't back down from a challenge.

This bike is fast on the downhill solid on the climbs. The front fork has plenty of travel and smooth in the rocks. The brakes will stop on a dime.
