Tour De Comfort
Commuting/City, Mountain Biking, Road Biking
Rode to work 150 times last year. I have back and joint problems and this bike lets me ride in a position that is comfortable for all my issues. Great on the street and great on the trails at Penninsula State Park. I will be 54 in April and this is the best bike I have ever owned. Let my Twin brother use it when we were camping and I had a hard time getting it back. He's getting one this Spring.
I was undecided for quite awhile about purchasing a Trek since having ridden a motorcycle for 20 years. WOW!! This is fun. Am so glad I visited my local bike shop for a garage door opener problem (chain). I not only got the part I needed but I also bought the 2016 Verve 2, the black and silver one. Now help me break the news to my wife. I'll be 68 next birthday. I wonder if I will make a run to Sturgis next summer on it.

Best Bike I've Ever Owned
Smooth shifts, Easy riding, Lightweight
Commuting/City, Road Biking
An overall great Bike. Comfortable, Fast and easy to ride. Nice range of gearing too. I'm a road biker, so I'm not sure how rugged it would be on unpaved trails.

Great all around bike
Looks Great, Smooth ride, Smooth shifting, The Perfect Computer Bike, Good value

Cruising The Neighborhood, Commuting to Work, Exercise
A good on road and some off road riding, but not like a true mountain bike. Riding the back roads and streets, this is the perfect bike. A lot of gears (21) to make the ride easy. The upright position and larger seat makes a more comfortable ride. If your looking for speed, this may not be the right bike, but for the casual rider, I can't think of a better bike.

My Best Bike Ever!
Durable, Easy to shift, Fast, Fun To Ride, Versatile, Lightweight
Rails to Trails, Good For Exercise, Road Biking
I love this bike! It fits me well because I'm a very tall lady. I got the 22.5 size.I purchased the men's bike and it's no problem getting on or off it. Plus it fits on my car's bike rack without me having to use the adapter like on my old women's bike. I love how this bike is so light and fast compared to my old "tank" of a bike. Now, my husband can't keep up with me when we ride. Love, Love, Love It!

Trek Verve 2 is a great bike for people who want to enjoy a nice bike ride. It doesn't do the extreme terrain of a mountain bike or give the speed and distance riding of a road bike, but if your in between these needs, you will be impressed with this bike. It has the geometry that allows for comfortable and upright riding posture that won't stress your neck, shoulders and wrists.

Got as a 60th Birthday present....
Lightweight, Durable, Comfortable, Great value

60th birthday present from wife to an ex athlete who has bad knees and hates to "jog" or "walk". Easy to ride, carry, and service. Looks great as well.
Got it at Bike Doctor of Annapolis.....they are terrific with service and support. Car dealers should take a page from their book.

Stable, Easy to adjust, Durable
Heavy, Shocks Don't Lockout
I've had this bike for about a year, and use it daily as my commuting bike for a 16 mile round trip commute in Washington DC. I also use it for 30-50 mile rides on the weekends.
The pros: This is a very comfortable bike with a smooth ride. Accessories mount easily--I have a back rack, rear and front lights, water bottle holder, kickstand and a small front bag attached to mine. The bike is easy to handle and maneuver, and is stable--a big plus in city traffic. The tires are also good in rainy weather, and are durable. There's also a wide range of gears, which helps for hills. The suspension fork also allows for some fun riding off of the pavement that a road bike couldn't handle, such as crushed limestone or dirt trails.
The cons: This bike is heavy and slow (my road biking friend called it a "tank"). Don't expect to average much above 13-14 MPH, even on an empty trail. This is partly because the upright position of this bike makes you a giant wind balloon, and also due to the weight of the bike. The shocks do not have a lockout feature, which can make hilly city riding less enjoyable, even with the wide range of gears.
Overall I like this bike for commuting and weekend rides, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who likes to ride fast.

Great Hybrid Bike
Lightweight, Great Handling, Durable, Versatile, Well built quality, Comfortable
Commuting/City, Minor Road Biking, Pea Gravel Trails, Road Biking
I started with a mountain bike and what a difference when I bought this bike in Dec. 2012 and now April 2013 I am riding up to 22 miles on this bike. It is a great all around bike. Don't think you can outrun a road bike. I love this bike and will keep it but I just went today and bought a road bike.I can ride 19.2 mph without standing on the pedals. Very good speed.

Very Nice Neighborhood Bike
Road Biking, Commuting/City
I bought this bike as a companion to my Trek Pilot 5.2 carbon frame road bike which I absolutely love. Sometimes, though, I ride in/on areas/surfaces not really suitable for a road bike like my Pilot. I decided to buy the Verve 2 WSD because it is very lightweight, and came in a 19" frame which is difficult to find in a ladies' frame. I am 5'10" and like a large bike. My Pilot 5.2 is a 57 cm. frame and while great for long rides on the road, this bike jumps curbs when necessary and rides over grass and wooden bridges with ease. The front fork shocks along with the seat post suspension, makes for a very solid, comfortable ride on any surface.

A Superb Bike!
Lightweight, High Quality, Highly adjustable
Seat Not Comfortable
I am absolutely thrilled with the new Verve 2 I bought in November 2012 from my LBS. I haven't ridden bikes much in many years, so currently I'm only able to ride short distances locally with my Verve 2. But it is so enjoyable to ride that I find myself taking it out often when the weather is nice, sometimes two or three times during the day.The construction, finish, and operation of all components of the Verve 2 are superb. Shifting is easy and precise, braking is excellent, handling is excellent even at the slowest speeds, and it is the easiest pedaling and best coasting bike I have ever had. There are user adjustments that allow the fine tuning of almost everything on the bike. As it sat on the bike shop floor, my Verve 2 was set up so well by the dealer that no adjustments were needed before buying it. I replaced the saddle that comes on the Verve 2 with a Bontrager SSR WSD saddle. It is much more comfortable for me, and the black color with silver lettering matches the Verve 2's graphite and black colors really well.If you're looking for a top quality hybrid, check out the Trek Verve 2, you might end up taking one home, I did.
